Holiday Card for BIC Challenge

Over at TAWS the challenge is almost over and I had to make a card - its one of my favorite challenges. Too bad its now only once a months.... I went with the glittery leaves inspiration photo: I used my new TAWS stamp set Tri Me. The sentiment is from the set Holiday Sparkels. I heat embossed everything with gold, silver and copper embossing powder. Added a little bell on a gold string and underlayed my embossed panel with copper metallic paper.  Its a different kind of Holiday card, but I like the modern, clean look of it.  I am also linking it with Stempelkueche - atypical Christmas card Taheera's Cure for the Monday Blues challenge - I think my card fits the chandelier in the photo           --X-- I also wanted to share two  cards with you that I recently got: The butterfly card is from my friend Maria from rieslingmama and the tree card is from my friend Susanne from Keep in Touch . So thoughtful of you to send me

Make It Monday #190 - Plaid Background

Make It Monday #190: Stamping a Plaid Background I happen to have this stripes set from Papertrey that  Ashley Cannon Newell  uses so expertly in her card. The video is really helpful, too. I have tried before to make a plaid background, but never liked the result of it. This time its different, thanks to Ashley!  I turned it into a Holiday card - what else, at this time of the year.... The die cuts are from Papertrey as well. I really love that silver glitter paper. I have been using it quite a bit, lately.  I almost forgot - the little "cheer" is by Paper Smooches. And added two sequins. I am also linking my card with Inkspirational Colour me....! - although my turquoise looks kind of blue here... By the way - there is still the Black Friday sale going on at  STAMPlorations : You may want to take advantage of it!

Little Tangles and Paper Players

I am playing in the Little Tangles  Challenge #49- Giving Thanks  with my card: All stamps are by Neat&Tangled. I heat embossed the diamonds with gold, silver and copper and underlaid the panel wiht copper metallic card stock. As you can see, the sentiment is heat embossed onto vellum. Added the brad, silver string and some beads. Looks very elegant. It also fits the Paper Players challenge , but I rotated the panel  from horizontal to vertical. Are you enjoying your Black Friday shopping? Neat&Tangled has most of their inventory at a discount - although the stuff I wanted was mostly sold out already....

Subway Art Christmas Card and Happy Thanksgiving!

At 613 Ave Create the theme is Subway Art - and what better stamp to use than STAMPlorations for that?   I made Christmas card, using the  Vignette: Christmas Block , altough STAMPlorations has quite a few subway art stamps, including a beautiful set in the latest release . I first stamped the sentiment onto a silver metallic paper and heat embossed it. I then dropped alcohol inks on it. I popped up this panel onto another silver metallic paper, using thin foam tape. The background I used the same stamp and stamped it repetitively onto white card stock, although it looks grey in the picture - not sure why.... Here are some more photos with different angles - its kind of tricky to photograph, because of the reflection.  I am also linking my card with  Stempelkueche  - Untypische Weihnachtskarte = atypical Christmas Card and with Uniko Studio - Anything goes and a sketch Less is More - anything Christmassy, although this is not really a CAS card....   Simon

Holiday Shaker Card and a School Project

What else is new - another last minute project from me .... This time I combined both teh sketch and the inspiration picture from Your Next Stamp to create this shaker card. The sketch really looks like a snowglobe to me and I love shaker cards, so I went to work.... And here is my result: I used Paper Smooches stamps. The trees are actually green, you see this better below and its holiday confetti from Michaels, as are the little snowflakes. The snowglobe base is in real life more yellow, but looks like orange in the picture... I added wink of Stella to the white parts of the snowman's hat and that you can't see either... Here you can see the green trees: As luck will have it, my card fits the  The Card Concept  challenge perfectly  1.) A TAG or a CARD with a tag on it 2.) Snowmen, snow or any other "wintery" theme!  My card goes into the CAS category, of course. I like it, its cute!                I am also linking this

STAMPlorations Blog Hop Reminder

Unfortunately  I could not be part of the blog hop for STAMPlorations ( personal reasons ), but I did not want to be totally left out, so I made some cards to share with you.  For both cards I used the sets  Rosebuds  and  Bold Sentiments: Hello . I just love how the cards are so totally different.  The card above is made with the flower vase, stamping it sideways in rainbow colors. Added the sequins for extra interest. For the card below I used the single stem rose, masked it partially and sponged in red and yellow . The roses I colored with Copics and added some shimmer with my Wink of Stella pen. The black curved panel I added to cover up some smudges.... ooops..., but I like the way it turned out!          So hop on over to STAMPlorations and leave some comments - there are fabulous prizes to win! You have until 11:55pm PST to comment and be in with a chance of winning one of the new stamp sets or a $25 gift voucher to the STAMPlorations shop.  Click

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #24

Hi Everyone,  we have a new sketch challenge at STAMPlorations : And here is my card: I used three stamp sets for this card:    Trendy Leaves ,  PATCHWORK FRENZY: Graphic Squares  and  Trendy Feathers The yellow leave I stamped first and heat embossed it, since I was too lazy to make a mask.....I partially masked the square and sponged. Lastly I added the sentiment and the stitches.  This month we have Julie from Crafted by Jules  as our GDT - she is a fabulously talented card maker. Make sure you''ll stop by her blog and leave her some love. And of course our DT girls have made gorgeous cards to entice you to play along! I am also linking this card with the AAA challenge - Thanks(giving) Our prize this month: $10 gift certificate to a par ticipant who uses a STAMPlorations image - randomly drawn $5 gift certificate to a participant - randomly drawn from all entries The challenge ends December 28; the winner will be announced Janua

One Layer Simplicity Challenge

Susan Raihala made such a beautiful card as inspiration of the  One Layer Simplicity Challenge  and there is still a day left to link up! Here is my card: The background stamp is Hero arts, the little house is by Mama Elephant and the sentiment is Technique Tuesday. This was a really quick card, as you can imagine. But as usual I like my quick cards the best. Thanks Susan for the inspiration! And here is Susan's beauty: I am also linking this up with Less is More  - anything Christmassy and with  Christmas Stamping all Year round  - anything Christmas Moxie Fab  -  Tree-mendous Trees    Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Muse #94 combined with Inkspirational

Finally I found some crafting time again! I was missing my daily evening card making sessions.... but last night I could retreat to my card making room upstairs and make some cards. The one that I am showing here I made for the   Muse  challenge and combining it with  Inkspirational , where the theme is Christmas with the optional twist of no red or green.  Marion Vagg designed such a gorgeous card for the Muse challenge, but its actually not easy to CASE - at least for me... Since Christmas is nearing I wanted to make a Christmas card - never can have too many of those.... the stamps are Hero Arts. The joy die is by Papertrey. Added little beads on silver string I am not totally happy with my card - I guess I am a little rusty.... I am also linking this card with Christmas Stamping all Year round - anything Christmas                 Glad to be back in blogland! Thanks for visiting me!

Addicted to Stamps challenge #122

Hi Everyone, its challenge time at ATSM and our theme is "Make your Mark" I used Paper Smooches stamps for this card - the stamps are from the set Santa Paws, except the background star, which is from  Birthday Buddies. I colored the dog with my Copic markers and fuzzy cut it. The stitched landscape dies are by Lawn Fawn. I added Wink of Stella to the stars and the brim of the Santa hat, but you can't see that in the picture.  I just love this punny sentiment! I mounted the card onto a white base with foam tape. Our generous sponsor is: http://www.eurekastamps.com/ The prize is 3 digis. I am also playing in the  Paper Smooches  challenge - Anything goes and in the Snippets Playground - my snippets are the dog and the hat.

Christmas card with non-Christmas stamp

Craft Stamper Magazine  challenges us to  use a non Christmas stamp to create a Christmas themed image. I used my Hero Arts Plano stamp to create this card. I stamped it onto water color paper and heat embossed it. then sprinkled it with Brushos and cut out the trees.  I slightly sponged around the trees. I stamped the sentiment onto vellum (Hero Arts Decorate your Holidays) and also heat embossed it, plus a little sponging..... Added the sequins, which I made with my MFT dies. I love using non Christmas stamps for Christmas cards - Thanks for the challenge! I am also playing with CASology  and in the Snippets Playground - my snippets are the sequins and the vellum strip            Also linking it up with Less is More ( as Sarah suggested) - the theme is "More than one Tree" and Moxie Fab -  Tree-mendous Trees   --- X --- I also want to thank everyone who emailed me, wrote me and left comments on my blog about my father'
